Fleet Town v Tower Hill

Ladies loss First Home game of The Season

Fleet Town ladies vs Tower Hill
Score: 4-0

Fleet had a quick start with some good attacking play. Great hit from Becca, but the goalie just managed to get their foot to it, to save it. After this, there was some good defence work from Fleet, as Tower Hill started to get into the game. Unfortunately, Tower Hill scored their first goal, changing the score to 1-0 to the opposition. Then Becca had another good chance, but put it wide of the goal. Blues chances grew when Lauren sent a lovely ball to Becca, but unfortunately nothing was gained. Chrissy went on a great run, parallel run with towers goal, beating three defenders and hit a good right- foot shot, but then hit the cross bar. Fleets first substation was Lauren, for one of our newer players, Olivia. Tower hills goal keeper, strayed out of the box from a goal kick, and gave away a hand ball, a free kick for Fleet. The free kick was taking, making a big scramble in the area, Fleet had around four shots at the goal but nothing gained. After this, Gemma had to come off due to and injury. Despite Fleet having the majority of the play, after time whistle blew 1-0 to Tower Hill. After half time, Fleet continued with a fast start, passing between players, resulting in a corner for Blues, but nothing was gained. Unfortunately for Fleet Tower Hill changed the score to 2-0, with a own goal. Blues then picked up the pace, passing through the team all the way to the opposition’s net, but missed the shot and didn’t gain anything. Tower Hill gained on us again with their third goal against blues, changing the score to 3-0. Minutes after this, Tower Hill scored another goal against Fleet resulting the end score to be 4-0. The game eneded wiwth great play from both teams.

Managers thoughts:
Tough Game against a side that closed down really quickly and gave use no time on the ball, Need to step up ourselves and play quicker when opposition close down quickly. Made chances ourselves but could not put them away. Again we were stronger the more the game went on. Some good individual performances but need all to step it up as a team when needed,
