Another Good Preseason Game

Fleet Town Ladies VS Milford & Whitley
2-2
Both teams kicked the game of with an energetic start, especially for Fleet. Some good team play resulted in a chance for fleet, but was called offside. Jodie then had a shot at their goal but unfortunately nothing was gained from this. Becca had a good chance, but Milford defence stood strong and cleared the ball. Some good play between our deffense and midfield, meant that blues started to dominate the game. After this, Kerry went down with an injury and had to come off, being replaced with one of our younger players Amber. The yellows started to get into the game by testing our defence. Fleet continued to play with pressure but despite this, the opposition managed to score with a close range shot, hitting the under-side of the cross bar and going in. Which left stand- in goal keeper Rae, no chance! Milford had another chance at our goal, leading to an unfortunate run out with Rae, Cat chased after the ball and just manage to side foot it away from the goal, leading her to fall into Fleets net. Half time came, with the score 1-0 to Milford. At the start of the second half, Bwenti took a great shoot at the goal but was saved by yellows goaly, that lead to a corner but nothing was gained. There was then some more, great team play for Fleet, leading to Jodie scoring Fleets first goal, changing the score to 1-1. Milford managed to break through our defence, which lead to a one on one with yellows striker and our goaly. The striker took a shot, then Rae made a great save with her legs, not resulting in any goals. The Yellows managed to score their second goal, with a good shot at our goaly Rae, making the score 2-1 to Milford. Fleet didn’t give up, and as a result from this, Jodie drew the Milfords defence away from their goal, then put in a great cross, leading another one of our younger playes Dani to tap the ball into the goal. Fleet didn’t sit back on the last goal, they kept trying until the final whistle blew. Concluding the score as 2-2, with great team play from both sides.
